Hi everyone,

just have a quick question about a strange feeling i occasionally get in the right side of my head.
It's a painless, occasional throb just above my ear on my right side. It doesn't happen all too often but mostly occurs during periods where im getting very little sleep. There's no pain just an annoying little throb every once in awhile, usually fluxuating anywhere from every 5 minutes to every 30 minutes. Doesn't last more than a second or 2 and doesn't hurt. Also I get very bad headaches when i wake up from night where i get a lot of sleep (9-11 hours) after a week or so with 3-4 hours a night. Those headaches will go away when i lay down and come back when i get up. I have a very poor diet, and work/play has me on the computer staring at a screen for roughly 18 hours a day. Heavy smoker and worry about everything all the time =p.                      Anyone have any ideas?

Change your diet to a more healthier one, cut down on the smoking and break up your time infront of the computer, go for a walk, do some stretches. And, drink alot of water!

Try to have a regular sleep instead of it being inconsistant, that should help with the throbbing headaches, as well as the diet change. Too much sugar and caffeine does affect headaches as does stress and worry.

I have the exact same symptoms...just on the left side of my head, just above my ear. there is not pain, just an occasional throbbing, not lasting for more than a few seconds, but multiple times per day standing, sitting, lying down at home, at work, in the car, wherever. i do work on the computer for about 8 hours per day and have been under an extreme amount of stress lately. it's just freaking me out.
