Hi.
I work at a Headache Center near Buffalo, ny.  There is a good list of national headache centers on the American headache society's website..

here is a link thru the MAGNIUM site..

Good luck!

Hi Ashley, I've personally been to the Diamond Headache Clinic up in Chicago.  They have a very easy to use website.  I suggest to google them.   If you want to e-mail me, I have a entire list from the east coast to the midwest of headache clinics.  I wish you the best of luck!

Peace.
Michelle

Hello Ashley,

I have been to the Michigan Head Pain and Neurological Institute (which I think is where the doctor that Ann mentioned is) and the Diamond Headache Clinic in Chicago.  They were both very great places, and they are very aggressive about the headache treatments.
Dx: Chronic Daily Migraines & Chronic Depression

Daily meds: Trazadone, Norpramin & Cymbalta
PRN meds: Tylonal #3

Hey Ashley,

When I first went to the Michigan Head Pain and Neurological Institute, I had only had my migraines for about a year, so they weren't quite as severe as they are now.  During my time at MHPNI I found a few medications that made my migraines a lot more managable...the only problem was that my body adjusted too quickly to the meds and they because ineffective.

Over time, the severity and frequency of my migraines started increasing until they became Chronic Daily Migraines.  The doctor wanted to put me on higher doses of medications and combine more than one, but I was only 14 at the time and the meds were messing with my school and sports life, so I stopped going to that clinic.  Looking back, I really wish I had continued there because they were so understanding and they really wanted to help.

The Diamond Headache Clinic is pretty similar to MHPNI in my opinion, but by the time I had ended up there my headaches had reached their all-time worst and it was almost impossible to treat them.

Wishing you lots of luck,

~Liz

Hi Guys,

There is no simple answer for treatment of headache no matter what type of headache you have sadly! But a good headache Specialist will continue to monitor a sufferer's situation and adjust the meds accordingly!

Once you find a good Headache Specialist, hang on to them don't move on, give them a chance to find a way forward for you, sadly it will take some considerable time. There is no cure for Primary Headache, I wish there was, we just have to hang in there and work with our Specialists to find the maximum quality of life for our personal situations!

Just my two cents, take care
