I've read a lot of forums regarding Topamax side effects.  Yes they are there and very well listed, but you need to think of long term.  The side effects DO GO AWAY, for me it was about 6 weeks. I had the tingling in my toes, fingers, I had the funny feeling in my eyes, you have to give up soda, I had the memory loss, but the worse one was feeling like I had the flu.  They all went away with time and if you can hang in there I give Topamax A+.
The month I chose to finally go on Topamax I had 8 migraines, yes in one month.  I was on Topamax for 13 months and NEVER had a migraine.  I am now weaned off fully and am starting to get small headaches, had 1 migraine since I went off.  This was a wonder drug for me since I suffered for over 20 yrs.
The thing I loved 2nd most was losing 30 lbs.  I needed that help.  haha

Another thing........GIVE UP PROCESSED FOODS. I believe to be the cause of most typical migraines.

If you are having tingling feelings then you are not drinking enough fluids.  Drink more water and watch it go away.........As far as forgetting words that's why it's also known as "dope a max" as quoted by my doctor when he prescribed it to me.  LOL

This is all good to read!!! I have just started taking the Topomax and have been feeling very flu-like. I normally get 15 migraines a month and just finished a huge one. I have positive feelings about the end result. Thanks
