I have posted before on this site about my headaches and will give a short update. i am always on the chronic pain site.
To make a long story short, I have seen tons of doctors, taken many, many meds and done several forms of treatments with no answers. My pain score has mostly been 9-10/10. I continue with massage weekly for relaxation and occ. chiro treatments. I am on Oxycodone, cymbalta and Magnesium, Vit D, Vit B12, nutra sea and melatonin. I have been receiving cycles of ketamine infusions via a PICC line at home. I will start my third infusion on April 5. So I hope we can get the pain decreased more.
The first week of March it was 7.5 and that was wonderful!!

I can feel for all of you with headaches. It certainly is debilitating. I have been on sick leave from my job as a nurse in a Paediatric Hospital in Ottawa Ont. I am now applying for permanent disability. Not fun for sure!!

I hope you can all have a low headache pain day very soon!!

I cant imagine what your going through.  I have had temporal/occipital headaches for the past year.  I also am on oxy,elavil/neurontin ect and nothing seems to work.  I also have had facet injections under xray.
I was working on my RPN's at the Queensway Carleton in Ottawa when it all started.  On my bad days I just have to think what others are going through.

When you have occiptal headaches do you get dizzy along with the pain do you feel like
your going to vomit. does your face flush and get hot? I have had these symptoms
off and on for 5-6 years with pain/pressure in the back of my head. the only thing that
helps sometimes is ice sometimes if i touch my neck when its this bad i feel like iam going to vomit.I also have pressure in both ears like an ear infection but I have been to ENT and ears are fine
thanks

Sorry ,
I believe it was Tom with the occipital headaches WHEN THE HEADACHES GET REALLY BAD MY HANDS AND ARMS BEGIN SHAKING WITH TREMORS. As soon as I get the ice on and give it 20 miniutes the tremors usually stop and so does the nausea.Does'nt usually get this bad had maybe 2-3 times in 5-6 years.Had MRI , tested for MS and Lupus 5-6
years ago when it first happened.
Thanks

Hi Tom
Thanks for responding to my post. What a coincidence to meet someone on here from the same city and even a nurse at that. Have you finished your studies? I work at Cheo, well, i did work there. I have lost my job but have filed a grievance as you cannot terminate someone while on disability.
So it's over eleven years now that i have been suffering. I have tried it all and nothing helps so i am off of narcotics. I am on three antidepressants with the third being added in July and i can now get some sleep. I have not slept well since all this started. My headaches are always temporal, constant and usually 8-10 on the pain scale. It has been a rough journey and continues to be. I would be glad to share anything i have tried to help you out. Have you seen a tmj specialist?

Hi Bri
Thanks for your post. It's hard to believe how many people suffer with constant headaches. There just isn't enough help out there for us. I hope you get some relief soon.

Take care

I am posting to your post because I am in this delima for going on three months and my doctor has prescribed GABAPENTIN which was for one, three times a day. It worked for five days and my headaches came back with a vengence. He uped my dosage to two, three times a day. I am a 1 on the 1-10 scale. I was an 8 on the scale before he put me on GABAPENTIN. I have had catscans and last friday I had an MRI. I haven't heard from the doctor yet but expect an answere tomorrow. Mt symptoms were  hammer hitting my right tempal mostly when rising from my chair or just turning over in bed. It was simply debilitating to the point of almost blacking out. There was always a constant pain with a 5 or 6 on the scale but when changing positions it would just hammer me. The meds I am on now seem to be doing the job. They did put me on oxycoton but that didn't evenb touch it. I have never been in such pain.

Enough of my moaning. I hope that maybe this will help you in some way.
