I have had migraines since I was 18 I am now 41. This past July I had a migraine that lasted almost 2 months. I too was in and out of the hospital, saw many different specialists etc, etc. I urge you to find a Doc that specializes in headaches. Sometimes it's finding that magical mix of meds to get them under control. I can't take any triptans (they make me very ill) and ergots do nothing for me. I saw a PM doc who gave me botox, which helped a little and also did a facet nerve rhizotomy on one side of my neck. I didn't get the other side done because I felt no relief whatsoever and the procedure was painful. We are all different when it comes to what works. I hope you can find some relief soon.
Gentle Hugs,
Shannon

I really for, for you guys!!  I have daily chronic migraines, haven't found a med yet that has helped me. Right now I just take fiorcet, and zanaflex but only at night because they make me sooo tired. I honestly just have to deal with the pain. I've tried to stay away from pain meds, and my neurologist agrees. He says the more I take them the more I need them...and you can become addicited to them.  It's so hard for me to plan my days, never know how I'm going to feel.  I have a Ladies Conference this weekend in Johnson City Tn ~ guest speakers Chondra Pierce, Karen Kingsbury.... and several christian singers Jeremy Camp...can't remember the rest.   I know that I'll have a migraine I just pray it's not bad. I can't handle really loud sounds. I'll be working there too, so I won't have to be right in there with all the loud music.  I so wish I didn't have to worry about this pain, but it's my life.  I don't live in a large city so there aren't any headache clinics near by.

I've been reading up on Nerve Decompression Surgery. There are very few doctors that do this surgery. I got a call from Dr. Blake at the Houston Tx headache clinic. They wanted me to set up a time I could come in for a consultation, that's not an easy thing when you live in another state.  Praying for the answer to come soon, before loose my mind.   Wishing you all a pain free weekend!

Many Blessings,

Mercyme/Cindy

Has any of you guys considered finding your triggers? Take a journal of anything you eat and drink, and list when a migraine comes on. Look for common factors. Also, you can also study up on migraines and find out what your "trigger point pain" in your migraine means. For example, your back of the neck for the most pain in your migraine, is usually stress... etc

I still have my migraine. I have changed my diet completely and still no relief. My meds arent helping and I dont take pain meds as they dont help anyway. So now I am back at square one. It is hard to raise a family and work with a migraine that will not go away. I am at my breaking point and dont know what to do. If anyone has any suggestions please help. I have had migraines since I was a kid but this one will not stop or even ease up a little. It is ruining my Life.

Has your doctor suggested any kind of IV therapy to break the pain cycle? I have heard that DHE therapy works well for some people and I read some older posts from one of the members here that was getting ketamine (SP?) therapy. Maybe if it hasn't been brought up you could ask about it. I really feel for you, head pain is horrible! It completely consumes you. I hope you can get some relief, you will be in my prayers my friend.

I will bring that up to my doctor. I know they did alot of IV meds when i was in the hospital numerous times and nothing worked. I have had this migraine since jan 2nd and no relief. I just dont know what to do anymore. But i sure will ask about what you suggested and see what the doctor said. Thank You.
