Looking for info/others who experience feeling hot & cold (alternating) while experiencing a migraine or immediately thereafter.

It is very annoying, I alternate between feeling like I'm going to freeze into a popsicle and then feeling like I'm about to burst into flames.  Cold sweat alternating with hot flashes.  Doesn't seem to matter if I have taken any meds or not, usually happens after the migraine is subsiding, but sometimes while the headache is still active.

I have had migraines most of my life.  Been on lost of different meds, had tons of tests.  Currently taking Inderal for migraine prevention ( does seem to be working - not as many headaches as before the Inderal), Estrace for hormone replacement, Antidepressant.

thanks if you have any info about this condition or if you experience it, what do you do to help yourself.

Have a good evening!
Grandma J

yeah,i too experience hot/cold flashes with my migraines, not all of them but alot. ive had some docs that must not see it too often as they always question me about why im burning up(sweating-just my head though)the way i see it ,migraines with me affect nuerological things like i become very shaky/tremors and it seems like my brain is overheating and cross-fusioning! my other half says he can see a migraine coming by the fact that i dont make alot of sense when trying to talk.

Thanks for being here. It's nice (I guess) to find someone else who knows what I'm talking about. No one else in my family has this particular quirk to their headaches.
Recently my headaches have begun again, (too much stress in my work environment and home life) and in an effort to stop one, I took too much meds. I can't remember 2 whole days. Like to scared my husband and kids to death. My 74 year old mother had fallen and bruised her eye, (quite a shiner!!) and my dh couldn't wake me up. So he took me to the ER where I got a stern lecture about my meds, and I was informed that I'm suffering from anxiety & Depression! Really? Like I don't know that already. Anyway, thanks for letting me rant, and best wishes on your journey through the minefield of migraines.
Grandma J (Oh, btw, my dh has hidden all of the headache drugs, Midrin, Benadryl, Vicodin) just cause he loves me!) I'm better though.

Hi Grandma J and welcome to our family! I also experience the hot and cold thing with migraines but not as severe as it sounds like you do. I have a bigger issue with sweating on my face and under my hairline. I know that my meds play a big part in it and alot of us on here with fibro experience this embarrassing condition too. I do notice that during a migraine I tend to sweat more though, so I have kind of just chalked it up to a pain/fibro/not really sure thing. lol I do hope that you continue to feel better, keep us posted. Take care.
Gentle Hugs,
Shannon
