Hi Ashley and welcome to our family here. I am so sorry that you are having so much pain right now. Migraines are the worst! What medications are you on? Is it possible to get into see your doctor to get a different prescription? Or maybe a pain shot to try and break the cycle? When I start getting a migraine that I know is going to be bad, I usually call my doc and go and get a torodol and phenergan (sp?) shot. That will usually stop the migraine so that I don't have to get something stronger like demerol or stadol (which I do have to get at times when the torodol just doesn't do it) I try to catch it early enough because I don't really like adding more narcotics to the mix because I take a pretty high dosage of those everyday. Do you get any relief from any of the triptans? I don't unfortunately. But I have heard that others do get pretty good relief from them. I hope that you can get some relief soon. Try ice on your head and neck too. Take care and keep us posted. Stick around here too, I am sure some others will be by soon with better advice for you.
Gentle Hugs,
Shannon

What medications are you using? On a one to ten scale of pain, one being the less and ten being the most how bad is your migraine? If I just sounded like a doctor, just shoot me moderators, I work in health care LOL. If your migraine is bad like 6 or higher, vomiting, chapped lips, etc you should be seen. However, you should still make an appointment with your primary and discuss options of if a preventive medication would aid you. I personally have used topamax before til I found all of my triggers (the things that causes the migraines). I averaged 18 to 24 migraines every month before I went on topamax. Results went to 3 to 4 migraines a month instead.
