I'm 29 now, and I've had migraines since I was 5. It never gets any easier, though. Every time I'm suffering with one I truly just wish I could die. I feel bad when I get one now because my husband wants to badly to help, and he can't. Which just seems to make my head hurt worse. Anyway, just thought I would ask the general consensus on years with migraines.

I have had migraines since I was a teenager, and I am now 47. I had a terrible migraine yesterday. My neurologist gave me samples of relpax which I was reluctant to take because I had taken imitrex, zomig, maxalt....and I had a bad reaction to all of them. After taking the relpax my chest got really tight and fealt short of breath, and my neck hurt so bad, that is the last time I'll take relpax. I know it helps a lot of people but the side effects didn't outweigh the benefits for me. Anyway I've had migraines for way too long.  Seeing a Neurologist from the University of Va Medical Center this Thursday (Aug 5th). Can't wait to hear what another neurologist has to say about these chronic daily migraines.

I have them about once a month now. They are caused by triggers so I have learned to avoid them most of the time. It wasn't very easy. I went through truthfully a half dozen ignorant pediatricians, but it was worth find that neurologist that spent the time to guide me through my teenage years to reach 1 migraine a month.

My new neurologist just diagnosed me with basilar artery migraines. I've had vertigo for a couple of weeks now. This is my main issue I'm trying to resolve.

Almost a year ago, the skin on my right side went numb with muscleache. It happened a handful more times, but since I've been put on topamax in May, it hasn't happened since.

I thought I had it all figured out and under control. Kinda sucks when it takes a major turn. I wish I could move back to my home town and have my old neurologist guide me through this.
