To the outside world i look fit and healthy, tanned even my dad commented on how well i looked and my colleagues at work, when i made my brief cameo appearance a while ago before retreating back into my inferno.Last year i had an Mri scan which showed nothing yet i was diagnosed with Chronic Paroximal Hemicrania.Let alone with a name like that i had encountered cataclysmic hell raising pains in my head which would have in my mind have created schisms in the equator, yet the neurologist calmly said beforehand the scans would not show anything.Everyday for 2 years i have  had pain in the left hand side of my head,my eye streams,my nose runs,i have symptoms of sinnus congestion, these are the only visible signs of a fortcoming attack,an attack which  no scan will recognise,no lumps appearing on the outside of my head,no foam or blood  coming out of my mouth,no visible trait of the nightmare i will experience inside my head. When visiting the Consultant having to describe the pain was difficult to say the least. All i became was a heap of elaborate and clumsy similie's amd metaphors and in the end it was like picking five names out of a hat(burning, stabbing, clawing etc),no it was none of those it was like a nerve generator switched on to full capacity with a dementor from Harry Potter sucking my soul out.Yet he has only my word to take for it,my description, and the questionaire which after having filled that out made me want to end it all, about the pathetic life i have now living with this migraine or as it has now been called Hemicrania Continua(the evil relative of the chronic other).Yes my description,my depressing dark tale over the last 2 years, no other evidence visible or otherwise,i actually asked him have i lost it,is it me,have i gone mad.Ever seen the film Harvey with James Stewart about the big white rabbit, thats how i felt about this migraine(i havent started talking it to it yet). The consultant reassured me and told me the pain was real,it came from the brain and not to listen to any idiots as there will be plenty who will think migraine sufferers are mad.

I have had more than one migraine that made me think about putting a hole in my head, just above the eye, in the temple area. Not to die, just to let the pain leak out. about 2 years ago, I still had to go out to do what I needed to get done, but that migraine had made me so, so very tired, I popped 2 Vitamin B12 sublingual pills. They can help me get the energy to deal with my insane lifestyle. I was not looking for pain relief, just enough umph to get thru the next 2 hours so I could keep my job. Within 20 minutes, I noticed my pain was greatly reduced. I suggested this to a friend whose Imatrex did not touch hers that day. She was able to get out of bed and function. Nearly everyone I have suggested this too has had relief to some extent. I use the sublinguals since even if I vomit after taking them, some will get into the bloodstream and once that amount takes effect I can take it again. B12 is water soluable so is hard, but from what I have read, not impossible to OD on.
I asked my Dr and she told me it was impossible that B12 could make any difference in my migraines. She also has told me that all alternative methods for treating any chronic illness is a bad idea. I don't see her much anymore. Since finding some rel

Just to be clear... I AM NOT A DR. OR IN ANYWAY A MEDICAL PERSON. Do Not try anything you think might harm you in anyway. B12 can be very hard on some people. One friend who tried to use it for energy like I did, spent 3 days in bed recovering from flu like symptoms. (how?? IDK) but he knew he had an intolerance to B vitamins and tried what worked so well for me.

This says to add a quick reply... too late for that I think LOL

I hope and pray that you find something to quench your personal inferno!

P.S.Since finding some relief with the B12 I have found magnesium and calcium help prevent migraines for me ... I am nearly 3 months with no migraine

Thank you for your compassionate response, much appreciated. My GP,actually prescibed B12,just after i was recovering from an operation and my energy levels were at an all time low. They were brilliant and instantly recussiated my body back to life.At present i am on indometacin 75mg 3x daily and recently had a nerve block into the greater occital nerve, also just in process of being weaned of Topirimate which is huge relief. The topiriamate made me feel drowsy, sluggish, anxious and aggressive without doing any good to my raging ongiong Hemicrania Continua.I am due to see my Consultant in early October and may ask about the B12,as complimentary medicine.
I am delighted they worked for you,
Thank you once again, for your response,
Take Care,
Plato
