Hey everyone!! So I have been suffering from excruciating migraines now for about a year and a half. I was diagnosed with. B12 and vitamin d deficiency as the cause of my migraines. They have prescribes me topomax at 50mg twice a day plus a form of an inhaler and also trezix incase neither of those work. Lately none of that has been helping. I almost become like a stoke patient; my speech begins to slur and my visions blurs today they called me in a new prescription of Cambia. Has anyone ever heard of this??

Welcome to the forum.

I have had daily head pain since 2006.

here is info on Cambi. /www.drugs.com/cambia.html

I can not take it because one third of my pain is from cluster headaches. then I have Trigeminal neuralgia and hemicranial continua. All under the "umbrella" of migraine.

I too take topomax, I am on generic, take 100 am, 150 p, I also take 5mg of baclofen 3 times a day. This keeps my pain Level down to around 3-5 in the scale .

I understand your slurring and vision.

I can suggest a few things to help that. I worked for me and I know a few other people. Change your diets to Whole Foods diet. NO processed foods. Reduce read meat s much as possible. NO artificial ingredients, NO food dyes. Wean off the caffeine to nothing.
NO Soda!!

Check the juices for artificial stuff. I drink 32oz + of water a day.

Fruit, veggies, salads, roast veggies in oven, omelets, rice dishes, grains, whole new world!!

Love mangos, avacodos, etc....

Weather plays a big part in my pain, so I may be increasing the baclofen up some.

But since 2006 and many neurologist I have discovered that just meds are not going to be MY answer.

I hope some of this info help.

Peace

I hope you get relief soon.

At the top of the forum, there is a thread Resources. There is a link to migraine diet. I have not seen it for a long time.

Important thing to remember with uncontrolled pain is the artificial things going in your body.

Topamax is also a process and may not work for all. Starting dose is 50mg. Dose can be increased slowly by MD. Some people it helps, others not. I have Hemicrania Continua also. My drug of choice is Indocin and Melatonin.
What works is such trial and error. Don't give up!
Best wishes!

I had migraines. I don't if anyone knows this, but if you have a pain manager/Dr., he may be able to GET RID OF YOUR HEADACHES! My Doctor got rid of mine. It was a very simple out patient thing that didn't take long at all, and then I was free. Went home that day, probably took 30 minutes, no pain involved. Just wanted suffer's to know this info. I always hear about people trying this and that and nothing works. THIS DOES WORK. It did for me anyway. So, I think it is definitly worth a try to get rid of those awful things.

Did you see where I wrote in that a Pain Doctor can get rid of migraines? A quick, no pain, out patient thing and go home with no headaches.
