I have an 11 year old little girl who has been having migraines since she was about 4 and 1/2 years old! Recently she was admitted to the Children's Hospital and spent over a week with migraine that was out of control. She had to start receiving IV DHE and then still needed an SPG block. They were thinking of doing inter crannial injections ad nerve blocks to break the migraine...

While there they decided to finally run more blood work at which time they found out her WBC slightly high (she was also constipated and hadn't pooped for 10 days), her RBC was slightly low, ANA titer was 320 and Pattern was homogeneous. She has the red butterfly pattern across her face and she gets very sensitive with the sun. Also she is often very very tired and ultimately looks and feels sick majority of the time. We are waiting for the 3rd ANA test to come back to give us a bit more information. It was drawn on July 3rd and I have no idea how long it will take to come back.

I have had a hard time wrapping my head around not knowing the cause of her headaches. Do any of you have any commons symptoms or test results etc?

Thanks!!

Sorry for the delay in reply.

I heart goes out to your for your daughters pain.

There are cases where artificial ingredients, processed food [processed cheese product; is not cheese i.e.], food dyes, yellow, red and blue have caused migraines in children and adults.

Since I am obviously not aware of the diet this is my suggestion. Perhaps see a nutritionist, keep track of what she eats and the pain, see if you can find a pattern. You should do this with all things actually.

Pain hits, what was she doing before, a few hours early? Weather, barameter going down things like that.

Other than that, perhaps, a diagnostic neurologist. get a better handle of what you are dealing with. I went to John Hopkins in 2008.
