Hi guys I came across this site while trying to find info for migraines. Here's my story:

Before this episode I never had a migraine in my life. im 21 Years old now, I dont drink and I have quite smoking for 2 months now. I used to smoke for about 3 year avarage of 2/3 a pack a day.

For about 3 weeks now I've experianced a migraine almost everynight. Only once has it happened in the daytime (about 11:30am).
Ive been to the hospital about it 3 times. (no insurance confused ). They've done Spinal Taps and Cats Scans and have found nothing. I've been giving a slew of meds. Imetrex did nothing. However I have been using Axert to keep the migraines away. They seem to work well. But i continuosly have a ringing in my ears, like ive been listening to music to loudly.
Is this normal? No migraines ever to migrian almost everynight for 3 weeks? Why is it only at night time? And what concerns me the most... will i be like this for the rest of my life? I actually quite scared about the whole thing and im concidering seeing a nuerologist.

sad

Hi Pix6L, Sorry that you are having such a hard time. I think the best thing you can do is see a Neurologist, and hopefully he/she can answer your question why you get the migraine's every night - the sooner the better, so you can get some relief! Keep your chin up and keep posting to let us know how you get on. I am on here most days.

Thankfully for me Imigran(Imitrex) works really well for me - its about the only thing that does, although I have felt generally better since my GP put me on Amitriptyline for Migraine pain prevention - this is an antidepressant that is prescribed for chronic pain in low doses. There are several other preventative meds for migraine and seeing a Neurologist will help you discover if you need anything like this and if so what it is.
Take care Ann.
