The triptan I take is Zomig.  If I take the rapid melt version I get the worst sore throat.  I still get a sore throat with the regular but not nearly as bad.  My doc is suggesting the Zomig nasal spray.  Does anyone else have this reaction?
I'm worried that the nasal spray is going to have a freaky reaction too.
My doc says it's nothing to worry about.  My neuro wants me to stay on it because it works most of the time.
am I just being paranoid?

Vic...

It is not just you....I get the worst sore throat (and sorry to be gross...but I want to vomit...worse than I did to begin with sad )

The sad thing is...In my case the sore throat and the nausea is not worth the benefit of this medicine....

I guess this is one of those cases where you have to weigh the benefits out and see if it is worth it to you?

I am like that with Topamax...Kidney stones are hereditary in my family (I have had them 3 times) and they are common occurances with Topamax. HOWEVER, that is the only preventative that works really well for me, so I am up to 400mgs daily now. I have with my doctors permission decided that it is a trade-off...It is worth the RISK of kidney stones once every 6 months (estimated possibility) to not have daily migraines. So, that is the chance I take...

Anyway...you are not alone with the "zomig throat" I don't think it is dangerous or anything to be concerned with...At least it makes you feel better to know that its not just you.
