Hi Sweet,

Sorry I have not replied before now. Yes I have heard of Amerge but have not taken it myself. The triptans in general do work well for most people, although they do not suit all, the secret is to find the triptan that works best for you, or in this case your daughter. Sadly some of the triptans are very expensive!! Personally I have been having Sumatriptan (Imitrex) injections for the last 13 years! - which I think are the most expensive!!!lol

Please let us know how your daughter gets on with the Amerge, take care

Ann

Hey Folks,

I tried Amerge a couple of times (out of a very expensive prescription), and I might as well have been eating chalk.  It did absolutely NOTHING for me, although I must add that no triptan has been successful for me.  Either they don't do anything or make me violently ill (a migraine feels better!)  Not to mention the fact that the doctor prescribing it treated me like scum and failed to pay attention to any of my medical history.  He was a volunteer neurologist at the Free Clinic in town and acted like he was God's gift to the uninsured.  Thank God I have insurance now.  OH, just one more important fact.  The Amerge had a direct contraindication with a medication I was already taking, which could very well have killed me if I had taken a higher dosage.  If triptans work for you, give it a try.  I'd give away body parts to get rid of a bad migraine.

Best wishes,

Leigh Ann cool
