I went to see a Neurology/Migraine Specialist about two years ago, as I was having trouble with finding a good preventative.  He asked if I had tried taking Feverfew.  I told him I was taking a homeopathic remedy called "Migrelief".   It was sold under a couple different names, based on what part of the country you live in, but it contains 200mg Riboflavin(B12), 180mg Magnesium, and 50mg Feverfew.  My doctor said that these are good "helping" prevent migraines, especially in conjuction with a preventative medication.  In my location in central Virginia, I have to have it special ordered from my pharmacy.  Wal-greens use to carry it, but not any more.

Try it.  It might help and certainly couldn't hurt.

Hi!  new member here.  this is my first time posting!  I have been suffering with migraines for about 25 years.  I take Imitrex for abortive, but the insurance co has just reduced the # I can get each month, so Im desperate for a preventative.  I just starting take a supplement with riboflavin, feverfew and a few other things its called migra solve.  plus I started taking 5-htp (I think thats what its called). one of them is really bothering my stomach though.    Im hoping it gets better with time???

Hey Kimi67,

Welcome to the Migraine board.  Hopefully you will find information and support to help you with your battle with Migraine attacks.  I've had Migraines for about 34 years, so I've been there and done it all.  Not much we here one the board don't know about the subject of Migraines.

Not many migraine sufferers manage very well just using homeopathic remedies, and abortives like Imitrex.  Having a good preventative is the best form of migraine management, once you figure out what your triggers are, and eliminate as many of them as you can.  This is a very knowlegable group, so feel free to ask any question you might have.  Their are very few subjects we haven't come across.

Best of luck and let us know how you are doing.

Thanks Leigh Ann!!  btw, Im a big Jimmy Buffett fan myself!  I just got tickets to go see him in concert in July!

I was just reading on some of the old posts about some supplements I need to try.  I've learned alot already!  I have tried Topomax (side effects), Toprol (no relief), Paxil (no relief)and years ago I tried some of the tryptans (no relief).  so, I am ready for something new.  I know a few of my triggers and try to avoid them, but its hard sometimes!   I am also taking Ativan and that helps me to relax and get a good nights sleep which has helped me not wake up in pain on most mornings.

Thanks for the help!  I love this site! kimi tongue
