hi-
i am the usual headache sufferer you read about here on this site.......
i am posting this for all to take from my experience whatever they would like...
i became addicted to fioricet-bad. i had worse headaches (rebound) and was so unhappy. i was taking way more than perscribed and won't get into the dirty details :)
i tapered off on my own (not reccomended unless under dr supervision) and that was the worst month of my life. the withdrawl was a nightmare! i then went to treatment and a pain clinic.
i am the happiest i have ever been. it has not been easy and the past 4 months have been kind of tough but there is a light at the end!
all i take is advil and naproxen, the headaches have decreased significantly. i take cymbalta and lyrica.
what i think has helped the most is a huge life change-i take a multi vitamin, extra b6 (really helps keep your hormone leves stable) and magnesium at night. magnesium is also a natural muscle relaxer so you can take it when you have a headache. i also reduced the amount of carbs and sugar-i no longer have such a large swing in my blood sugar levels. i can tell when i eat crappy-my head tells me!
i am not preaching no meds-i still rely on steroids ect. when really miserable BUT the day to day living headaches are much better.
i figure-headaches were such a life stopper-why not just stop my life to try to get rid of them?
good luck to all-this is a real killer of a thing to deal with :)
sara

Taking it one day at a time-because I have to!
