Hi, good morning and Happy New Year to everyone.

I said I'd come back in November and let you know what the neuro surgeon said following my last consultation with him.    You may recall me mentioning that I have a very close friend who is very very ill - events have overtaken me somewhat, and I haven't had time to sit, think, and compose my thoughts about myself on here!

The surgeon thinks that I'm well enough to be left for now, which is good as far as I'm concerned.  He doesn't want to try me on steroids or any other medication so that is where I'm at right now.

My hands and feet are not much better and I get some horrendous cramps in my legs at night with the occasional "snapping" sensation in my arms when I reach out for something - that feels really strange!

So I guess it is just a case of getting on with it and hoping it stays where it is - I am so loathe to try any drugs of any kind but I will keep an open mind about that.

Hi Gillan and happy new year to you also!

I'm glad that your happy with the neuro-surgeon's opinion. I also find it hard at times to give into medication.

I'm newer to this board but I had viewed it without posting for quite some time. How can I find the threads of yours that describe what you've been through, to prevent me from having you retell it? Thanks in advance!

I was curious about your hands and feet and what are happening with them.

Sorry to hear about your friend-will pray for you both

thanks

Hey Gillian,

Welcome back and Happy New Year.  You have a great attitude.  All we can do is carry on and just do the best we can.  How is your friend??  I hope you are taking good care of yourself.  Keep us posted and let us know how you are.

Love and prayers,

Hi Gretchen,

Thank you for asking about my friend.   He isn't good, albeit he just tries to get on with stuff too.   He was hoping to be accepted for gammaknife surgery here in the UK, but has too many tumours now.  Very sad indeed.   I guess that is why I have the attitude that I have, things could be a lot worse for me - he is 29 years old and has never really lived, I am 45, have a great life, a caring husband, 2 wonderful children, 22 & 18, of whom I am fiercely proud, if tomorrow never comes I've had many blessings to count.   Not everyone is as lucky as me - yes the MS seems to be catching up with me these days, but I'll fight that as best I can!   I haven't time to succumb to it!   I have my next venture planned:- - as well as my day job, that's what I'm up to!

Take care.

Gillian,

I am very sorry but you cannot list any websites that are created with the intent to fundraise.  This is a very noble cause you are involved in but posting your link is a violation of the rules.  Again, I am sorry.
