Before I was diagnosed with MS (about 14 years) I would be sitting in an upright chair for sewing.  I would move my head in a downward position and a strange feeling would go down my back into my privates.  It did not hurt.  :-) In fact, it felt sort of good. (I know it sounds sick for me to say that but, it is true).  Then after a couple years it went away.  Now lately it is back.  I'm just wondering if anyone else has had anything like this?

Peg,

You are so funny and very honest :).  I have had this; would put my chin down and then buzz right down my spine to about the center of my back.  I have also "played" with this.  It was such a strange sensation.  This is called L'hermittes sign or L'hermittes syndrome.  It tends to be a strong indicator of MS but it can be caused by other back problems.  It is just one of those weird sensory things that can happen with MS.  For some it is just a weird buzzing and for others it can be extremely painful.

My concern is that it was gone for you and now it is back.  I would let your doctor know.  This could be a sign of a flare or progression.  It can return temporarily with heat, stress, or over doing it.  Take care, friend.

eyes  I know I am too honest at times.  But, my neuro said what it was called and I forgot.  But, TY for giving me the word for this tingling.  yeah I played with it when I was 18 but, I had no idea I had MS.  Thanks so much for letting me know you have had sensations similar to mine.

Hey 20years:

If you want to repley to someone when they ask you something just hit quick reply at the bottom. The person then has to go back and look when they read the posts. I have been reading through since I am trying to get some info and learn all I can. This is a great source and I learn a lot from others. The neuro was telling me that the MRI looks like MS and now I am going for more tests. I am happy to find support here. Wow you used to sew in a factory you must be really good. I wish I could sew like that. I just got a serger and that is fun. I need to take more lessons though.
