First off I want to say Happy Thanksgiving to all on the forum , I really hope you all have a good one. I definantly count this board as one of my blessings I am thankful for.
I went back to see my regular PCP yesterday but he was off so I seen another doctor that is in the same building as him. He was very nice and thorough. I don't know if he just had the magic touch or what but within 45 minutes he had the insurance company agreeing to a open MRI scan for Friday morning. Yesterday was my birthday so maybe that was God's little birthday present to me, THANK YOU. My question is there anything I need to ask them and also how long before the doctor should have some results. hat questions do I need to ask the doctor upon him recieving the results. Is it OK to ask for a copy of the results? Also he prescribed a new medicine for me that I haven't ever heard of and was wondering if anyone has tried it or knew anything about it. It is Mobic 7.5 generic name is Meloxicam. This along with the tramadol I was already taking.
I know I sound desperate but this is really taking a toll on my body big time and I am at a loss. My memory is failing me so bad that yesterday my electricity was turned off cause I literally forgot to pay the bill. My boyfriend found out and threw aq holy raising fit and says if I am able to work still(in which I just get by barely) and I am able to drive that there was no excuse whatsoever to forget a major utility such as that. I felt totally stupid. I have started a big calender of due dates and to start marking them off in red when paid. I feel sometimes I have regressed back to grade school tactics and not sure how to cope. Alot of people are to visual as in if they don't see you bleeding or hurt in some way they don't relate to what goes on in the inside of your body. Also I just got a tanning bed for my birthday and I have been laying in it right before I go to bed at night to try and help my muscles and body relax more where the cramps aren't keeping me awake so bad. Has anyone tried this and does it seem to help much?  I have only been doing it for a few days and I will let you all know if it seems to help me or not.

Most people with MS are very sensitive to heat. It is a good sign you are able to lay in a tanning bed for any amount of time. I know that I could not tolerate that. Before MRIs, one diagnostic tool was a tub of hot water. They would do a neurological exam with reflexes and then put you in hot water for twenty minutes or so, then re-administer the exam.

You may ask for the results of your MRI. Most of us have copies. MRIs usually only take a few days to read. You should expect results late next week.
