I'm not sure if this is related to my MS or not, I'm just wondering if anyone with MS have these issues.

I wear prescription glasses with a #2 tint on them (recently lightened to somewhere in the middle of 2 and 1). Most people think I'm wearing sunglasses indoors when I'm really not. This is only for comfort as my eyes seem to get really tired easily from screens, the sun, focusing, just an overall feeling of the eyes working overtime all the time.

The sound sensitivity is what bothers me more tho. I'll give a quick rundown of what I'm talking about. When it is dead quiet, I can hear a high pitch ringing sound that I usually drown out with a floor fan. I live on a corner at a pretty busy road and all day long I get to hear the big loud work trucks, the old cars/trucks with glassbacks, the 15inch woofers pounding, ect. Sometimes it doesn't bother me, but other times when I hear this stuff It feels like my brain is raging. Basically loud noise sets it off and I literally get enraged (on the inside) until the noise I find offensive is gone. I really don't mean to be a jerk or anything. I really doubt I could attend a concert at this point. I hope you get the idea.

I'm just wondering if this sounds familiar to anyone with ms, or if it mite be another issue altogether. I ask since I'm pretty new to this and I have read sensitivity is an issue, but can it be that extreme?

Thanks for reading.

Hey Psoup

Sensitivity to light/sound is lesser seen symptom of ms, but still a symptom. Given that MS affects central nervous system, it's understandable that it'd affect u'r hearing and vision as well. U might like checking out these links from the MS Soc. Please let us know how u'r doing.

Thanks, those links don't work for me tho. Maybe they're dead?

I'll see what the dr says. I have an appointment at the end of the month. I haven't been as descriptive about that subject to him as I was on here. Next time, I'll bring it up with him and see if we can't help that. At the moment, I'm just trying to figure out if the sensitivity is so severe due just MS, or if It's related to medicine or maybe even breathing issue. I have to remind myself to breathe normally sometimes.

Anyways, I haven't really got to talk to anyone with MS before coming here so just seeing if any of this sounds familiar to anyone.

My husband has this problem especially with sounds (it doesn't help that I have hearing damage from childhood ear infections). Does anyone know of any way this can be helped?  He also suffers from rage like symptoms, but as they have become a sore spot in our relationship he will not discuss it with me enough to know whether it could be related to the sounds/lights.
