Hello,
I've never posted on here before..I people don't mind me asking some questions.. I am very nervous/scared I could have ms.  about a month ago, I had lower back pain..This traveled to my front thigh which became, numb and it burned so bad..I was convinced I had MS..I went to my dr. she gave me an exam..She sent me for mri on my back,,It came back showing I had a protruding disc..So my main problem is pain/numbness/burning in my thigh..it has gotten a little better, I have been going to pt/and a chiro..So one of my questions is if I have ms, would the burning, get worse with certain movements, like bending forward, driving..if I'm in bed, and get up I can feel it burn..Do you guys think this sounds like a ms?  Thanks very much for your help..I'm a nervous wreck..

Hi.  Why do you think it is MS?  It might be your siatic nerve which can be very painful and the pain travels from back to the front of your legs and down your legs.  If a doctor suggested MS then go and have several blood test one of them being a Lyme Disease tes called the Western Blot test. A lot of people with MS, or told they have MS acturally have Lyme Disease.  Good Luck,   Amy L.

Of course I am not a doctor, but no this does not sounds like MS.  You have seen a doctor and you have gotten a diagnosis.   Have you told your doctor you are scared and that you think it is MS?  What makes you think this is MS?

I am scared I have MS because a good friend of mine had ms, and she got diagnosed shortly after she started have back problems....I did tell my Dr. I was nervous about Ms, They gave me the MRI of my Spine, that's when they said it was a disc, that was causing the pain in my leg..They took a blood too, ruled out Lyme...I just get nervous, because I know numbess and burning is a sign of ms...

Pain and numbness are symptoms of MS, but pain and numbness are symptoms for many other illnesses.  I think the fact that you have some improvment in your symptoms is a good sign that what you have is actually a protruding disc.  Give this more time before you assume you have been misdiagnosed.  I have never had back pain and I have MS.  MS is extremely variable.  I hope you are feeling better real soon.  I can feel your anxiety and that is not a comfy place to be.  You are welcome here and can continue to ask as many questions as you would like.
