I'm not dx with MS at this time....I just have a lot of symptoms that sound like MS, and this is my second go-round with this set of symptoms in the last two years.

I just saw my PCP this afternoon. After I told her about all of my symptoms, especially the vertigo, double vision, etc., she said that I couldn't drive anymore! Period! She's filling out a report for the DMV so that they will suspend my license.

Now I had already stopped driving on days that I felt bad and had vertigo, but I was still driving occasionally if I felt OK (of course, those days have been few and far between lately). Now I can't drive at all.....this is bad, because I have two jobs! shakehead

In Southern CA, mass transit sucks, unfortunately. But it looks like I will have to start riding the bus.....I'm in a wheelchair so this will be interesting!

Oh no! Nasalady that is terrible.  I can't imagine what you're feeling right now.  Is there any type of service that you can drive you to and from work?  What about car-pooling?  This problem is magnified by the fact you're in a wheelchair.  My goodness.  Sending positive thoughts your way today.

Blessings,
Ginny

Thanks so much for your kind reply Ginny! You're right....there may be other transportation options out there. I should do a little research and ask around at work.

In the meantime, i'm just bummed. Even though I had already stopped driving when I felt bad, I'm really devastated by the actual loss of my license. Because now, even if I start feeling OK again, I'll have to be certified by a neurologist and maybe even an ophthalmologist before the DMV will give my license back. :(

Well....God never gives you more than you can handle, right? He certainly seems to think I can handle a LOT!
LOL!

Take care,
JoAnn

Nasa!  Yikes!!!  I am southern cal. as well.  You are so right about the horrible mass transit.  I am sorry this happened to you.  I have chronic vertigo and I self monitor my driving.  I have learned vicariously!!!  Don't drive when I don't feel I can and keep my mouth shut!!!
