Hi,
I have been diagnosed as having MS for 2 years and am on Betaseron. My ultimate goal is to be off of it bc i believe in and am doing naturopathic medicine. does anyone know someone who has successfully left meds, if so could you put me in touch with them. Thanks
PS im sure some of you are appalled at the mere though of leaving the meds and will try to convince me otherwise. while i appreciate your concern my mind is made up--bc among other reasons i worked for a drug company and know how these things are made.

HI there and good morning...Im not so sure that this is the safest thing to do - leaving your DMT and going to naturalpathic medicines....Don't take me wrong, I am a user of natural remedies my self, but use them as suppliments as they are intended. Naturalpathic medicines do have their place,  but I do not think that their place is for total treatment of MS.  The reason for your DMT is to slow progression of the disease, and I am not sure or aware of a naturalpathic medicine that can do the same job.....there is nothing out there that is proven to do this in the natural world....

The various DMTs including Copaxone that I am on over the course of 10 years of study, have proven positive results.....Im not sure why you are wanting to go away from this when these drugs do have a positive track record....

My son in law is an avid naturalpathic, using various suppiments for this and that. But when he gets sick, and cannot get better, he then goes to a conventional doctor, and get conventional medicine.....MS is serious stuff, and does serious damage, and needs serious treatment... sure use your naturalpathic medicines as suppliments (but be careful, there are some that will do more harm than good to your MS) but I would stay on a DMT....

Have a nice day

Gary

hi ,   i agree with Gary. while natural treatments can make you feel better they cant replace  your dmt. As far as getting off your current therapy, you may feel better initially.(no sideeffect).I got off avonex after 5+years(1998-2003).I felt better, but 7 years later I regret that decision. YOU NEED TO DELAY PROGRESSION,   PPM GUY,     good luck
