It is that horrible sense that your life is not your own. Your body is not your own. I am sorry! I get your frustration. You might just have to wait a bit. I will bet that they might make these in non-metal forms. Or at least the anchor part.
I don't want you to settle.......that would be a bummer, but perhaps you could temporarily settle. A tattoo? A nose, or ear cartilage piercing? A toe ring?
Don't give up. Talk to a piercing shop and let them know your limits on this. See if anyone can recommend something. Could be that no one has put pressure in this area.
I have never heard of this, by the way. I had to google it. It is kinda cool really. It is very clever.
Your only other option is no MRIs. I do know people who do this. How often does your doctor make you do yours? Mine is willing to go 2 years between. Could you get an anchor and then have it removed? Are they absolutely permanent? It seems like you could have it taken out....let it heal......have it put in again. I am not sure about scarring however.
