Im using green since its my fav color lol. But several neuro's have said that typically headache is not a main symptom of MS. But I have noticed that when my first headache started they thought it was migraine, those meds didnt even touch it, so i start taking 1000mg of tylenol then 3 hrs later 600 mgs of ibuprophene.  Which after a few days it eased up to where it was bearable.  Seems like the headache at their worst appear then shortly after they do a MRI and I have a new lesion.  Does anyone else have terrible headaches? And any suggestion to ease the pain would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Cyndi,

Sorry you are having headaches :( Some people with MS do experience headaches. Certain symptoms such as Optic neuritis and trigeminal neuralgia can cause them, or just having a lesion in a certain area of the brain can cause them too. Some people with MS also have migraines but no link has been established between the two.

My husband has chronic daily headaches and gets some relief with excedrin migraine. What kind of migraine med you try? Some people have great success with Topamax, anti-depressants or anti-inflammatories. I wish you luck and I hope you get some relief.

topomax was one of them, they tried about 4 different meds with no relief. All they did was make me sick to my stomach, which made me upchuck which made the headache feel much worse lol. I have noticed the past few days it is still there but not as painfull so I think the headache is starting to ease up. Just seems funny that they are at their peak, get an MRI then poof another lesions. Maybe just a coincedence or my imagination thinking too hard trying to connect the symptoms with whats going on.

I am glad you are starting to feel better and get some relief. Sounds like they might be coinciding with your flares maybe due to inflammation? My husband's neuro said his are from the lesions themselves and suggested that the combo of the aspirin and caffeine in the excedrin migraine would work..at least for him. Keep at your doctors til they find something that works for you. You should be getting some more feedback soon here, we have many of our members on vacation right now. Hang in there, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Hi Everyone,

I have a question about the type of headaches you have. I have alot of headaches, but they are one-sided. It's either on the right side or left. It's like it parts down the middle of my head. That side of my face, ear, eye and neck will hurt during the headache. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Any info will be greatly appreciated. Tks in advance. Take care all,

Most of my headaches are all in the same location, top left side of my head. I dont usually have any particular ache with them.
