Kimber, you had said in my recent post that your hubby has many stomach problems. Some assoceated with MS and some not. Could you tell me what kind of problems he has that are associated with the MS? I would appreciate it very much. I am still battling this whole stomach problem that no one can figure out. My doctor is going to do a biopsy on my ovary just to make sure nothing is going on with that but he thinks that is not my problem. I have had every test they can think of so i just dont know what is next. I just wanted to see what kind of things your hubby was having to see if my there are any similarites. I am making an appointment with another Neuro, he is supposed to be an MS expert.thank you.....beannie

Hi Beanie,
I know Kimber will answer you but I thought I'd tell you what I found out this week.  I went to my G.I.(gastroenterologist) doc because I have alot of nausea and constipation and she is putting me on Zelnorm.  I know someone else who has these problems and is on Zelnorm also.

MS can cause slow stomach emptying and nausea, constipation etc...  I don't recall what all your tummy troubles were but have you seen a gastroenterologist about it?

Take care, I hope you have relief soon! :-)

Hi there Beannie,

He has extrememly sluggish bowel movements which causes some nausea, constipation and cramping type pain. We've been able to manage the problem with a high fiber diet but in the event things get worse, his doctor did suggest Zelnorm as well.

You didn't ask but his non-MS problem is ulcers, lots of pain, burning, nausea. He takes a prescription dose of Prilosec which helps quite a bit.

Good luck, I hope they figure things out and you get some relief. Please keep us informed.

Kimber

Thanks Kimber,

I just don't know what is going on with my stomach. I have these pains around my hips that feels like I am being pinched. I also have cramp type pains and bloating. I have such fatigue, everyday. I went to NYC and walked and thought I was going to die when I got home. I have had cramps in my legs for about a month straight, they wake me up 3 times a night. I have been weeing about 3 or 4 times a night. I have been having some nausea lately.Yesterday I was so dizzy I kinda just laid around all day, then it seemed to pass. I will take dramamiene for it but that makes me sleepy. I went for my yearly papsmear and was telling my gyno and he wants to do a biopsy on my ovaries. That made me very nervous because one of the symptoms of ovarian cancer is bloating, I will be a wreck until I get those results back. I go on July 7th for the biopsy. sad I had a vaginal ultrasound and it was good but it is just a precautionary measure. He does not think thats what it is, he said he thinks it's my intestines. I have had a colonoscopy just to rule that part out and everything was good there. I know that I have MS, I just wish someone would tell me that I have it so I can get medicated and get on with my life. I just wanted to thank you for getting back to me...and how wonderful I think this site is.

Hi Beannie,

I really do hope they figure things out soon! A lot of your symptoms are present in MS but also in other things like diabetes, ever been tested for that? I'm sorry I didn't tell you this before but after reading your post to hubby he was telling me that he has had that pinching in the hips for a long while! Best of luck with your biopsy, I hope all is good there and try not to worry to much until you know for sure if there in fact something to worry about. Hope you feel better soon!
