Thanks, Jena, for posting this.  I saw this over on msnbc the other day, too.

I just hope people read past the dramatic headline and first few paragraphs to read all the cautionary parts of this:  it's a very small study, 27 or so people; it was "open", meaning patients and doctors knew what drugs they were taking (thus increasing the possibility of the placebo effect); the cancer drug is very toxic, with huge side effects...

but it certainly is promising, and if they can work out a less risky combo, wouldn't it be wonderful?

...I am not a doctor, nor health professional, and don't pretend to be one, here.....

Yes. I only posted it because it seemed interesting. I guess we will know better in a few years...

Hi Jena,

Thanks for sharing this with us. It always great to hear about new things they are trying to help those with MS. It will be very interesting to see what the further study shows in a few years!

hi jena,

i just read the post, and the msnbc article you attached. i am sure hopeful that they find a cure for MS, though i am not sure i am comfortable with what i read. while a woman regained mobility, another has luekemia. it sounds like trading one complication, for another. like all research, there are a few bugs to work out, before they can claim a cure for ms. thank you for posting that, and god bless.

I agree. Not sure sure I am crazy about the whole cancer thing! What confuses me is the treatment includes Chemo which is supposed to "kill" cancer... confused
