 Hi Everyone,

Just out of interest, are there any Canadians that use this site...especially in the Atlantic Provinces that might give me some direction? Thanks so much.

Hi Shar and Lubylu,

Thanks for answering my post. It is nice that you are from opposite ends of the country as it can give me a good idea what is going on on the west coast as well as th east coast.

May I ask you both...What is the prevailing attitude on dealing with MS in your particular area of Canada? It is not as prevalent in New Brunswick to be on meds as it is other places. I am still on the fence as far as proactive drug intervention or if one is doing fairly well to leave well enough alone. I draw the line on fatigue and depression. Both those symptoms have to be dealt with swiftly I think.  Sigh... I have read so much over the years that it is becoming harder and harder to decide what is good and what is a bill of goods sold to us by the drug companies on preventative therapy? I don't know anymore as everyone has a diffirent opinion on the subject, including the doctors and other health care providers. Maybe you can give me some of what is happening in your part of the world.

Thanks so much...Dale sad

Hi Dale,

I have full faith in the MS Clinic I attend in Vancouver.  Their recommendation was to start on one of the disease modifying therapies as soon as possible, which I have.  While the injections are a bit of a hassle, I feel so much better knowing that I am doing everything I can to slow down the disease progression, which is happening even if you are feeling fine.

Hope that helps,

Shar
