I am currently experiencing what I believe to be a mild form of Bell's Palsy on the left side of my face. As far as I know, Bell's Palsy alone is not usually related to other brain disorders but I have also had some numbness and tingling in my arms, legs, etc on the same side of my body. Ive had many other symptoms in addition to this (headaches, joint and muscle pain/stiffness, twitching, sore throat, chest pain, eye pain, etc).

I am curious to know how common (if at all) is Bell's Palsy in MS? Has anyone here had Bell's Palsy with their MS?

Thanks for your input!

Many of the symptoms you list: joint pain, soar throat, chest pain --are not typical MS symptoms. Nor is Bell's Palsy. I DO have weakness in my facial muscles, which has caused sagging, particularly on one side of my face, and this weakness is related to having MS. True Bells' Palsy usually comes on quickly -- within 24 hours -- and dissipates over a few days to a week.

I had Bell's Palsey about ten years ago-sometime between the age of 15-17,just cant remember right now. I also had Shingles two years ago on my scalp/face and over my left eye. I had asked my doctor if any of this is related and he said "no"....but for some reason,I just dont believe that...I think there must be a connection...maybe just Auto-immune?

My brother is just getting over bell's palsy and the doc told him it was stress and virally induced.
