Hi everyone. Please tell me if this sounds odd to any of you. (I do have MS)

I am getting these throbs in my left upper arm, side of my stomach, and in my back. Now, you can see these throbs and the only part that bothers me is the back, as it throws a spasm up that does hurt. I am on Lyrica, Zanaflex, Bacofen and (Valume - as needed for my tremors). I am on a low dosage of all the above.

Also, this may sound odd, but I have increased muscle tone in my upper body. You would actually think I worked out daily and could quite possible win a amateur body-building contest, I swear! lol. I know it can be common in MSers, but this much?? I do not work out, and limit my activities as my stamina, etc... are not good at all. Anyone??? Thanks, and hope you all are doing well :)

have you worked out or used your arm more than ususal lately? I get a feeling of "heaviness" in my side but I have no pain. Is it hot where you are, this may come into play big time as you well know.

Hey Jena

I hope u'r feeling better now. I don't have a dx of ms or anything else as of now. Still playing the waiting game to find out, but per my symptoms i can tell u that the look of being buff or toned in one area is something i've heard of with ms. At one time early on in my symptoms, i found my right thigh to be tensing and releasing over and over...all by it'self! It kept doing that for a long time and i sat and watched it. I'm pretty sure that'd be the way it'd become buff...tho i never realized any good results like that! I felt mine as it happened tho...do u feel u'rself tightening up?? I'm not sure if it can/does usually happen in the full upper body or not. As i said, mine was only in my thigh. If i exert much i will feel the heaviness that bird4713 spoke of. My clearest example of that would be in my legs. If i lean on them and put sustained pressure on them for more than a min or two, then i'll begin to feel that heaviness and weakness. It's as if i'm bringing it on! That happens in my legs over a longer period of time in just standing and walking, but it's like i mound up that pressure into just a few mins and it hastens that feeling.

There are others here who have spasms in their back and other places and they would be much more qualified to speak of that here. I imagine they'll be along to give u what info they can. I've had some probs with spasms in my arms and hands and legs, but nothing like u speak of at all. I hope that's all better for u by now and if not, please be sure u'r keeping notes and let u'r doc know of it. It may be worth a call to him/her to just let them know if it's still no better. Take good care and let us know how u are.
