I am somewhat familiar with this drug and the Phase III clinical trials, and am pretty sure that there is a 'placebo arm' in this trial. This means that you have a one in three chance of being on placebo (ie. sugar pill). Since they are currently testing two doses of the drug, patients are randomly assigned to either one of the doses or a sugar pill, and, in order to eliminate bias (on your part or the investigator's), neither you nor the doctor know whether you are on the active medication or the sugar pill.
Just something to keep in mind and to ask about when making your decisions :)
