Hi Everyone,
I had posted awhile back about my visit to my neurologist and how he didn't think ANYTHING was wrong with me and told me to get some sleep. He based it on the fact that my MRI was normal!!  My tingling and jerking has pretty much subsided but I occasionally have the pins and needles effect going on in my legs in various spots.  Sometimes feels like I am being stung by a bee!  Anyway, I digress.  For the last week or so I have been having these pains in my legs that feel like I exercised too much and they just ache. It goes on most of the day at various degrees of intensity but doesn't keep me awake.  I thought maybe I pulled something and took ibuphropon(sp?) but that didn't help. I also had one episode, after walking on the treadmill of my leg trembling when I sat down. Walking doesn't seem to make it worse though because I try to walk about 2 miles a day. I guess my question is...could this be another MS symptom, too much walking or just me being anxious?  I have been keeping a journal like you all suggested.  Do I call the neuro or just talk to my family doc when I see her next week?  Thanks for listening and your input!

Hey Carabo

Nice to see u again, tho i'm sorry it's for this. I too have lots of pain in my legs. That, along with the fatigue, is prob one of my biggest complaints. I've seen the docs for it and been dx'd with Restless Leg Syndrome. I accepted that and have been taking Requip for it. I decided to research it last night...whada'ya know!...and i don't fit the entire spectrum of symptoms. (tho i'm not sure anyone would/should) The things u describe are similar to the things i read and some of the things i experience as well. I have pain that doesn't go away with walking or resting...yet it does feel like i've been worked or have exercised a great deal. Strained them. Sometimes the pain does keep me awake, tho that's only just recently, and very often they jerk and twitch. I've had the muscles jump and tremble in a way before, but i'm not sure that's what u are speaking of. I've taken many different things to help with the pain, but so far nothing makes it go away. I use excedrine, but that's just my otc drug of choice. I would certainly tell u'r doc next week as he/she can check u and if it's rls they can dx and get u some med. Ur reg doc can take care of it, but be sure to let u'r neuro know about it when u see him/her next time. At least let them know so it can be documented for u. I'm glad u'r keeping a journal. Keep on doing that! I hope u get some relief and will be able to get past this soon. O yeah, if u can take much heat, soaking in a hot bath does help me..tho if u'r heat intolerant it may be a good idea to either make the bath a little cooler or don't stay in too long. Best wishes to u on this!

Hi there,

Every so often since childhood I would get the heebeejeebees!  :-)

Little that I knew a few years back it now has the name of RLS(Resless leg syndrome).  Not sure if it is related to MS would have been nice to know since I was just dx'd in 2004.  Oh well.  Usually if it bothers me I get out of bed or get off the couch and do some various leg stretching, eventually it goes away.  I haven't needed any drug assistance yet.

Hi i am new to this site and was reading ur post.  Ur symptoms sound a lot like what my mother and my grandmother have.Fibromyalgia, which is a chronic condition causing pain, stiffness, and tenderness of the muscles, tendons, and joints. Fibromyalgia is also characterized by restless sleep, awakening feeling tired, fatigue, anxiety, depression, and disturbances in bowel function. Fibromyalgia was formerly known as fibrositis.
* i went ahead and looked it up for u, cause i didn't want to give false information, and also i'm not sure if this is true in all cases, but both my mom and my grandmother suffer with this plus both have rheumatoid and chronic fatique syndrome.  I really hope this was helpful to you, can u keep me updated, as i just posted about my sypmtoms and how they all lead to MS but my MRI is clear of lesions. thanks*

Hi Bugs,

Welcome to Healing Well.  Thank you for sharing information about fibromyalgia and wanting to help.  In the future though, please just post a link instead of cutting/pasting articles to the forum.  A lot of people here have trouble reading very long posts and there is also the copyright law issue as well.  Thanks for your understanding.
