Hope it is spelled right.

Hi, haven't been here in a while.  Does anyone else take this for fatique and memory?  Aricpt.  I have taken provigil and hasn't worked at all on fatigue.  Started taking this a week ago and am cleaning house like a fast horse racer!  Not helping with memory but maybe will given time.  I have not had this much energy in a long time.  Fell almost like the old me, except can't remember anything, lol. yeah
Was just wondering if anyone else had found this to be true.

Thanks Linda

Hey Linda

Sorry, no experience with Aricept, but curious as to what responses u'll get! I'm so glad to hear u'r feeling better and more energized!! Maybe when it's had time to get into u'r system more u'll start to see some help with u'r memory. Please let us know how it goes with this new med! Now...get back to u'r cleaning! ;)

didn't know that aricept was for fatigue... I take it right before I go to bed lol

As for memory... I think it is a very nice, very expensive sugar pill, in my opinion... I have another month left of it then I think I am going to stop taking it... going to talk to my neuro about it today.

Reading the research on aricept, it really isnt' proven to do anything really. It does work for some though. And studies shoe that it works to delay demetia by 2 years on average for those with alzheimers (sp?).

provigil didn't work for my fatigue. I was real energetic the first 2 weeks I took aricept, but seem to have petered off now.  Back to tired.  But I must say my house is clean like it hasn't been in a year. hooray. Now if I could remember where I left my husband???????????

Linda: I take provigil for fatigue, but it doesn't last all day, only about 1/2 day or not very well during my physical therapy days. Have you tried anything else? I go back to my neurologist on the 21st and want to ask for something else, but not sure what. There isn't any indication that aricept is for fatigue, but if you are on a med that the MD wasn't aware of, it could cause an interaction which may increase HR & BP with the feeling of increased energy. Even over the counter meds (cold meds, allergy meds, etc) can have an effect that would alter its cause. If aricept is right for you and has the advantage of giving you energy, than you hit on pay dirt. Let me know if you are aware of any other drugs that work for fatigue. Thanks.

lol, I am sure ur husband will find you!

Other meds used for MS fatigue is Ritalin. I use vicodin for energy too =O

I have also found that provigil can be fickle as far as actually working! I take provigil in the morning, before I eat (100mg) and when I have the most energy for the day that I think I will have, within reason... I wait AT LEAST 30 min before I eat, the longer the better I have found. At least two hours to four hours after I eat breakfast or right before lunch I will take a second (100mg) pill, wait at least 30 more minutes before I eat ect.

This is how I found provigil to be the most effective. Somedays I never really "wake up" so I don't take provigil at all because I knwo it won't work anyways, then I just take a vicodin lol
