SO I had my hand surgeon appt since the neuro had also told me I have torn ligaments. I was REALLY hoping the pain (and numbnes spossibly) was caused by the ligaments and they can be fixed. Hand surgeon said I have some minor wrist tears but it has nothing to do with my pain and numbness...Said thats probably the brain lesions... That sux..I was hoping I could maybe get rid of that at least... And its been 3 1/2 months of constant numbness and pain in my hand...I hope it doesnt stay like this. I have my MS specialist appt next week...

I'm so sorry you now know the full truth. I suspect you already figured that. Are you on any meds for nerve pain? It might be helpful to ask your doc for something to help. I hope you get relief soon. HUGS!

I'm sorry. I suspected the "torn ligaments" was what they call a "red herring" ... something awry there..but not the REAL cause of your problems. As Michelle said, there are meds that might relive the pain. I'm assuming you've tried something simple like ibuprofen, or aspirin, or Alleve (all designed to reduce inflammation in arthritis..which I know you don't have, but they can also work for that sort of pain...)?
...I am not a doctor, nor health professional, and don't pretend to be one, here.....

Uppity, you are quite right. In fact the doc today said it was a "red herring." I will try taking regular painkillers and see if that helps...
