Hi everyone,

As you know, I haven't been diagnosed with anything yet, though the problems do continue (this past week, my muscles in my arms and legs have been so weak that it's difficult to get anything done. If I pick anything up, it's like the strength just drains from my arms, and if I'm walking or standing, the same thing happens to my legs.)

Anyway, since I've stopped taking nortriptyline two weeks ago due to side effects, I've noticed a return of some of the sensory symptoms that it must have been controlling.

One strange one is a tingling over my whole body when something or someone brushes against my arms, back, or legs. The feeling usually goes on for several minutes and sometimes travels up my spine and over my scalp. I also sneezed last night, and had the same tingling all over for at least two minutes. It doesn't hurt or anything, but it's just strange.

Has anyone else had this "whole body tingle" before?
Hugs,

Lisa ~

Hi Lisa,

I'm sorry you continue to have problems.  Is your doc gonna try you on a different med then?    My husband has experienced the all over body tingling but usually it happens only when he's overheated.  He does have a lot of sensory problems though including sensitivity to touch but he feels it as a burning sensation rather than a tingling one.  It also just effects the part touched and not the entire body. MS is kinda strange sometimes though, effects can be different.

I hope things start to get better for you, and hopefully someone will have some more info to share.

Hi Lisa,

I've also had the whole body tingle before.  When something really touches me emotionally, I get this.... it lasts for a few minutes... weird.

I have had buzzing, tingling and very sensitive painful skin areas, which has all settled down.  My latest thing is what feels like "chills" travelling down my left leg occassionally, which seems to be on a schedule of every 3-4 mins when it happens.

Nerves are strange little things when they are traumatized and/or healing. yeah

Hey Lisa

I've had tingling off and on, but not as u describe. More like transient or when it's hot it happens when i go outside and then as soon as it starts it's pretty much over. I did want to say, tho, that i've noticed something weird to me lately that Shar mentioned. Sensitive and somewhat painful spots on me. Not like they're so painful i need anything for it...just sensitive and like it hurts a little to the touch. Most recently it was my whole back...but only when i sat back. Again, not so much that i needed anything for it and really not so much i noticed beyond thinking 'hummm...that's different', but there. Interesting what can just show up. Also interesting that u can notice something and not really NOTICE it....as in not give it due attention. Good we all come here and post and read...gives us a chance to pay attention to the things we really need to.

Thanks everyone. I've also noticed over the last few days a couple of itchy spots. The itching will last for 10 to 15 minutes and scratching does not help. Then the itching stops. When I look at those spots, there is nothing there to cause the itching. Weird!
