Just a quick update - Shelly, the nurse practitioner at my neurologist's office prescribed some medication for me this past week (Valium and Phenergan) which has helped a lot with the dizziness and nausea I've been having for weeks, though it's done nothing for the weakness in my legs or my balance problems which has gone along with it. She also took me off the Wellbuterin about a week ago since we thought maybe that was causing the problems, but it evidentially wasn't the culprit.
She also called today to find out how I was doing, and told me that they're going to refer me to an endocrinologist because of the empty sella syndrome abnormality which is showing up on my MRIs. (Basically, that means that something is squashing my pituitary gland down into the little cup-like area that it normally sits in and flattening it out to where it looks like the pituitary gland is missing.) She thinks that may be causing some of my more recent problems with the dizziness, nausea, etc., though she admitted it doesn't explain all of my other symptoms. So, I get to see yet another doctor in this ongoing saga.
In the meantime, I have a consultation with my PCP on March 5 to discuss other options, such as Mayo Clinic. I've gone back to work on a limited basis; I'm covering my classes, but going home during my normal office hours.
I also have an evaluation for a sleep study next Tuesday afternoon and a colposcopy for the bad Pap Tuesday morning. ARRRGGGHHH!! When it rains, it pours! I hate all this!! I'm supposed to be healthy! It's just so dang frustrating! But hopefully, I'm getting yet another step closer to answers here.
