Over the last month I have been noticing that I will look down at my fingers and the nails have a blue tinge to them. It happens randomly on and off, but I probably notice it at least once or twice a week, sometimes more. I am never experiencing anything else at the time, I am not doing anything out of the ordinary, the temperature is not unusual. They just turn randomly blue. It's not really a problem, just bizarre. At first I thought I was just going nuts, but my husband definitely notices it too. Talk about things that make you go 'hmm'.

Has anyone else experienced this??

Hi Littlechina,

Oh my that is bizarre.  I've never experienced it myself but I've known other people who have gotten blue nails before and its usually due to a blood flow problem or poor circulation.  Do you have any problems with asthma or a cardiovascular condition?  It can also be caused by raynauds phenomenon which usually is a reaction to cold.  Some medications can cause it too, might be worth mentioning it to you doc if it continues.
Best wishes!

Hey Littlechina

My goodness! That's an odd symptom. I've not known of that before and wouldn't know what to think. Kimber brought up some very good 'leads' for u and i'd certainly bring this up to the doc at u'r next appt! Let us know if it continues and what the doc says. Very interesting!

Kimber,

Thanks for the tips! I did a little research on Raynauds phenomenon and it sounds like that might be a possibility. I'll mention it to my doc for sure, but like I say, it isn't bothersome at all. Just one of those things that made me go "wha??". But I guess nothing should surprise me anymore! :)

Thanks again!
