Hey Everyone!

This is something of a continuation from my gross post, but much easier for us all if i just start a new thread since i'm only posting on part of that thread.

My pcp prescribed Neurontin to me for my leg pain. The situation is that i use Requip and it helps at times and at other times it just doesn't. The pain can become instense and at those times is when i see no effect from the Requip. Well in my appt a few days ago i misunderstood the docs direction for use of Neurontin. I understood he wanted me to discontinue the Requip and start the Neurontin. That was wrong. He was telling me to use it in conjunction with the Requip. However, i decided not to fill that prescription because i was basically afraid of such a strong med and my feeling i didn't really need it. Thanks to Uppity's good advice i called to let him know i didn't intend to use the Neurontin. Well again, this is why he has the medical degree and i don't...i was wrong. He explained to me what he intended and i got the med yesterday. I'm supposed to take one 100mg tablet at night for a week and then two 100mg tablets at night after that. I used it last night and OHMYGOSH!!! It  helped sooooo much!!!! I will continue to take it as he's prescribed and see if the effects continue to be so great. If so i will put it in a gold laden case alongside my Maxalt and pay hommage to it each time i use it. ;)

so glad you took uppity's advice and it's working for you Rhonda! Sometimes these docs do know what they are talking about! ;o)

Hi Rhonda,

Wow so glad you changed your mind and it's helping to that extent!  Pain can be kind of a weird issue.  Sometimes you become so used to it, you don't realize how bad it really is until you find something that actually helps relieve it.  Then its like WOW I was hurting THAT bad???   Your doc wouldn't have prescribed it for you if he didn't feel it would help you and I'm glad that you're getting some much needed relief from it.  Take care!
