I have gotten leg pains off and on for the past serveral years.  It has never been bad enough to worry about but it is getting worse.  Normally I can take tylenol and ibpreuofon and be okay.  A couple of nights ago they started hurting bad again.  This time tylenol wouldnt help so I ended up taking half of a vicodin.  That helped and I was able to sleep.  Last night though was the worst that I have ever experienced I ended up taking 10 mg of Flexeril.  Normally that knocks me out pretty quick but I still had trouble getting to sleep and was up for yet another hour.  When i finally got to sleep I slept a full 8 hours uninterrupted deep sleep.  I felt a lot better today then I have in the past.  I am still fatuiged and icky from the flexeril but no where near as bad as before and I had a pretty good day.  I was actually able to clean the house up a good bit before I got too tired and am now resting.  Friday I go back to the doctor to find out about my spinal mri.  There were a couple of things on it that caught my eye and am eager to find out what the radiologist says.  The most noticable thing was on my C4 vertabrae there was a big white spot.  I dont know what the is but it showed up in several of the series so am getting anxious to figure out what is going on.  Will update asap.  More then likely will post again tomorrow night under this thread to help prevent too many new threads from me lol.

Hi Gizzmoe,

I can totally relate to your leg pain.  I am having the same thing, Tylenol and Advil do nothing apparenty because it's a nerve thing.  I can tell when I've done too much in a day based on my legs the next day/night.  They were really bad yesterday, so I took a Klonopin before bed.  That helped a lot, but I didnt like being the zombie today that it makes me.  I'm not sure what Flexeril is for, but I am thinking of asking for Baclofen, hopefully to take as needed.

Please do let us know what you find out tomorrow!

Take care,

Shar

Gizzmoe -
Call your neuro and ask for neurontin. I have the same thing but all day, as well as through the night, neuro put me on neurontin and it's worked pretty darn good. I started at 100mg 3X day and I'm now taking 200mg 3X day and it's taking the edge off, BUT my neuro also told me if I experience the pain more during the evenings, that I can bump it up to 300mg for the night dosage and stay at 200mg for the day dosages. The 200mg dosage isn't taking all the achiness away but it has helped me that I can function through the day w/o the pain getting in the way. Hope this helps.

Flexeril is a muscle relaxer. In regards to the neurotin it is one of the medicines I can't take because it makes my tremors really bad. I also at this point do not have a neuro, as the neuro I was seeing my doctor and I both thought was a a** as he said my brain mri was fine just treat the symptoms. Tomorrow I find out about my spinal mri my genreal doc had ordered and then will get another neuro referral. Thanks though for the ideas

Ah! I have tremors too, but it's funny the neurontin eases mine. It's weird how medications work on different people. Sorry to hear of all the crap you've been through..

I can't remember did your brain mri come back with lesions? The reason I ask is because I went to see an MS spec yesterday and he ordered a c-spine and t-spine mri in 2 weeks and told me that if I have even just one lesion show up on one of those, he's pretty sure he can dx what I have as MS. So, where I'm going with this is possibly if you had lesions on the brain mri and you have lesions on the spine mri, ask your dr if that is enough for him to dx you.

Hey Gizz

I have LOTS of leg pain. My neuro dx'd restless leg syndrome and gave me Requip. That helped some, but not totally, so he gave me neurontin as well. It's GREAT!!! My legs jerk and hurt alot...the more i'm on them the worse they hurt...sometimes. Sometimes it's straight out of the bed. Guess there's no way to know what to totally expect, just have to be careful and use the meds that are avail to u. Best wishes on this!!!
