I was dx about 4 months ago, after about a year of the guessing game.  Optic neuritist was my very first symptom, and now I have numbmess and pain in my feet and legs along with pain that jumps all over my body, one day it will be my back and another day it will be my neck. Also severe fatigue at times. I've been on Betaseron for about 2 months now and they did start me off low and increase it over a 2 week period. It seems to be finally starting to work. The very first week I got sick and was throwing up, doc wasn't sure if it was from the meds. Otherwise besides for injection site problems I think its a good medication.

Hey Tertle!

Welcome to the board!! I started this thread for u so everyone could see that u'r here and have a chance to say hey and get to know u a bit. I'm so glad u've found us and hope u'll find this community...we lovingly call ourselves a family!...as supportive and helpful as we all have. This is a wonderful group of people who are all willing to help in any way they can. Please feel free to ask any questions u may have or to post as much as u'd like.

I'm so sorry to see u'r having so many symptoms. Are u using anything for the pain or fatigue?? Many here...most...have these same symptoms and have been able to find help in various meds. For myself, i use Neurontin for nerve pain...a wonderful med!...and Cymbalta for help with the other multiple symptoms...most of what u've listed here. Also, for the jerking (i was dx'd Restless Leg Syndrome) i use Requip. Just some info that may be helpful if u'r not already taking anything for the symptoms.

MS can be such a problematic disease...it really runs u in circles and gives u lots to question, but we'll be here to help along the way as much as we can. The members here are great and will be happy to support u in whatever way needed. Also, we have live chats on Monday's at 6:00pm each week. It's a great chance to get real time answers and get to know the other members too. I hope u'll join us! Again, welcome to the board!

Thanks guys, I am looking forward to chatting with all of you. Its good to hear from other people who are going through the same things I'm going through. This seems like a very supportive site. Anyways today here in Madison, WI it is very hot, about 90 degree's. It was a pretty bad day for me cause of the heat. My whole body aches and I'm tired as hell. Thank god my Job changed due to my illness and I have a desk job now but I still have to go outside alot. I'm doing inventory control now, my old job was in receiving and shipping which required me to drive a forklift and alot of heavy lifting. I think back now and around last March I was swinging a big rubber mallet to break apart a crate and it slipped from my hands and hit another employee in the chest. He had to go to the hosptial because of breathing problems but turned out ok. After my 5 day suspension I was back for about 2 weeks and dropped a 300 pound piece of raw casting metal on my right foot and broke it pretty bad. My doc thinks this could have been signs of MS. Anyways enough about all that, to answer RHONDAB's ? about if I am taking anything for pain and fatigue, I am taking Provigil for the fatigue and nothing really for the pain yet. I will talk to my doc about the Neurontin.

Talk to you later

Hey Tertle,

Welcome to a great place.  I hope you find great support here.  We are a bit like a family but with siblings that fight and squabble.  Seriously everyone is real nice here but maybe you want to avoid Rhonda.  She is a bit weird.  Your work woes are tragic.  I can't believe you were suspended.  Yikes.  And then a broken foot.  Oi.  That is awful.  I am glad you have that nice safe desk now.  Take good care and again, welcome.

Love and prayers,

Gretchen

I do know Adams County, but not that specific lake. But then, it's Wisconsin. There's a HUNDRED lakes around here! :)

I'm not a Wisconsin native, but have lived here 40 years, and married to a native, so guess that makes me...what...a half-breed? :) Can't imagine living anywhere else.
