I just found out from a recent MRI w/contrast that I have MS. I went to see a neurologist but he treated me as if I'm stupid, said that my having it is absolutely absurd. I asked him to read the results of my MRI, & when he did, he had made some oh my's remarks, oh, oOOh, OOoh..then said: "Well, the MRI is fine, there's nothing wrong w/you..you don't have MS. Then he excused my recent (past 3-4 mos) as migraines, when I KNOW they're not, as they start in my upper spine/cervical area & penetrate all the way up to my eyes, & when I move my neck around, especially bring my chin to my chest, I get a bolt of lightning pain down my spine that explodes into pins & needles at the base of my spine. So, to avoid that, I try not to move my neck as much. When I asked him for a copy of my MRI results, he was shocked that I asked, & good thing I did, as the Impression read: Solitary 6mm hyperintense focus in left pericallosal, periventricular white matter. My primary care dr, awesome bedside manners, after I gave her my full details of complaints said that it sounds a lot like MS, even though most people's symptoms are unlike others, mine were of some of the typical complaints, ie: face & hand numbness, right side, strange pain in different
locations, stabbing intermittent pain, like some witch has a wax doll version of me, holding a needle in both hands, picking out 2 different areas to repeatedly stick me at. I thought I was going crazy! At the neurologists office, I had a stabbing pain in my left center shoulder that shot electrical pain down the inside of my arm, which changed the color of my skin from tannish/white to dark pinkish/purple, w/white blotches on the palm of my hand that travelled up my arm. I've had stabbing needles on my belly, my breast, my finger tip & the top of my head at the same time, or on the left side of my right fingertip & on the right side of my left leg, just above my ankle, at the same time. I really thought I was going crazy. Then oh goodness, I'm SO TIRED, except right now. I tossed/turned most of the evening from night sweats, as I get either too hot or too cold so quickly. I go to bed cold only to waken sweaty. I was told by my family dr/primary care, after she read my MRI results that its saying it confirmed our suspicions that I have MS. & that I need to get a 2nd opinion since this neurologist treated me as if I'm a neurotic hyperchondriac, which I'm not as I only go to the drs when I can't stand to deal w/pain any longer. Yest into today, I feel as tho I got run over by an 18wheeler, plus my skin seems supersensitive, as if I have a fever but actually don't. I also haven't told my husband.
