I have ms and also pregnant. I am due December 5.

I was going to work full time until the end of the pregnancy but for about a week I have had pains in my inner thigh and crotch area (feels like someone kicked me in the box - not fun).  So my doctor told me I have to stay home now and relax because he is worried about my ms and the pains I have in the upper legs. I have 3 and a half months to go and knowing myself I will get bored.

I can't do much for housework, or exercise, I am just supposed to sit.  I like to draw as a hobby but I am not willing to draw all day. I read a little, but again not for hours on end.  I can't even go for a walk because it is to painful.

This is going to drive me bonkers.

Anyone got any ideas about keeping busy while sitting on the couch.  Can't be to expensive because there will be some income loss because of this.

Play on the computer; learn to knit, crochet, or do other needlework; work jigsaw puzzles; make jewelry (lots of inexpensive kits at stores like Hobby Lobby for earrings, necklaces, that sort of thing); sew baby clothes; do crossword puzzles; do sudoko puzzles....

maybe this is a start?
...I am not a doctor, nor health professional, and don't pretend to be one, here.....

AnitaLynn,
I do know how you feel, I was flat on my back for months during my first pregnancy. Uppitycats has some good ideas...I read for the most part, listened to music. taught myself new baby songs from CDs and then lay there and sang to my little girl. I also prayed a great deal, wrote letters...I started journaling and started a beautiful journal specifically for the baby. Wrote to her about our family, her grandparents , our family history, how I felt, what I hoped for her.etc.... It is extremely hard to stay in bed all this time, but you will get through it. I had to do it twice, again with my second pregancy...that time I Planned and designed my garden, ordered seeds from seed catalogues and visualized a beautiful garden at the end of it all,,,, and another beautiful little girl. Of course, I needed lots of help...family stepped in to take care of #1 daughter .....I started a journal for this new baby also......now they are 18 and 17 and seems like such a long time ago. '

Hang in there dear one,'You can do it.
Love and prayers for you and your precious little one.

Mary,
50 yr.old retired RN,Crohn's D for last35 yrs..severe esophagitis, migraines,strictures,urethral stricture,depression,probable MS.
