Greetings all,

I am brand new to the forums and just started Copaxone a few weeks ago.

I have had great luck with the shots, with very little injection-site problems.

My one problem was that a few nights ago I awoke shivering uncontrollably.  I had a fever of 100F and kept that fever for about 36 hours.  Tylenol got the shivering to stop but I have been fever-achy (with a strong headache) for several days now.

A quick Google search showed that this has been seen on several Copaxone users and I was wondering how often any of you have had this problem.  My Neurologist confirmed that this is a rare side-effect of Copaxone.

I am scheduled to return to work next week and am feeling 100% but if this fever comes back it's gonna knock me out for a few days at a time and I am worried about losing more time at work.

I am very happy to have a resource like this to speak with folks about MS.  Thanks so much to everyone for participating.

Hey Pingmeister

I started this new thread so u'd get more attention to u'r question. Sometimes posts can get burried so i wanted to be sure it was visible to all.

Welcome to the board! I'm so sorry u'r having probs with Copaxone. As far as i've seen, most people seem to have a reasonably good experience with Copaxone, but there is always that chance of side effects and I'm sure others will be along soon to give u their input. Take care and let us know how u are.

Hey Pingmeister,

Welcome to the board.  I have been on copaxone for almost a year and have never had that kind of reaction.  I hope it is a one time occurance for you. I am glad that copaxone has been managable for you so far.  It has worked well for me too.  I hope you enjoy it here.  There are lots of great people here willing to lend a hand with information and support.

Love and prayers,

Thanks, gang. That is very reassuring. I had really just gotten used to the daily injections (I almost look forward to them now as some weird challenge to get right!!!!) and was worried that I'd be dealing with these "fever" episodes on a regular basis.

Hopefully I will now get back to work without further interruptions!

Thnaks again for the input!

Hi and welcome Pingmeister

I was on Copaxone for around 8 months, and the only reactions I had were injection site reactions. It does take a bit of time to get used to the injections, and it sounds like you are well on your way. I hope the fever doesn’t recur and that Coxapone is an effective med for you. Let us know how it goes, and if you have any additional questions.

I have experienced this before, but it was a few months before I started Copaxone so perhaps it's just an MS thing. I have been on Copaxone for about 8 months and haven't experienced this again. Although I do tend to be on the chilly side these days where before I was notorious for being hot all the time. But I haven't had the real chills with the fever again. Hopefully this was just a one time thing for ya!

I've only been on Copaxone for @ 2 months and haven't had any problems except that it stirred up my sinuse for a while but it only lasted about a month so maybe it won't recur.  Welcome aboard.  I don't have time to post much but We do have chat on Mon nights ask Rhonda or Kimber about times.  You'll find great people here so sit back and stay awhile. yeah

Sheila
