Hi all...

Bad news/good news.

My neuro sent me to see an infectious disease specialist, who said he wanted me off of Betaseron after all the viruses and infections I've had this year.  I've also had at least 3 relapses this year (another one now) so neuro doesn't think it's working for me anyway.  I feel weaker, clumsier and am able to work less and less.

Good news?  I just got approved for coverage of Tysabri tongue .  I stopped taking the Betaseron and am waiting for my first IV, hopefully in a couple weeks.  I was really starting to get worried that my MS is just proceeding along a little too quickly for my liking (needing a scooter was a real wake up call) and am so relieved that I'm going to be getting such a great sounding drug!! The last year has been so trying, any improvement in this fatigue will be very welcomed.  The neuro thinks the fatigue will be better even in the next couple weeks, just coming off the Betaseron.  I was really starting to lose my positive attitude...it's amazing how good news can come along just at the right time.

Speaking of good news.. my fiance is FIRST now on the kidney transplant list after waiting 5 years!!  He could get a call anytime.  Scary, but exciting.  I hope this is the start of a new lease on life and health for both of us, we've been through enough for a while.

Take care everyone,
Shar
