Sorry that I haven't been checking in for a while. Kinda' forgot I guess. Gotta love ms!

Most recent scare was when I went to dinner with friends to a nice restaurant. First the floor kept slanting. Luckily table and wall were there. Got meal and suddenly I was seeing double. Friend had one mouth above another. Difficult to eat prime rib when it wouldn't exactly stay still! LOL! Kept quiet about it until I felt eyes were crossing and everything blurred. Got to friend's house and called neuro. He said double vision is part of ms. Next day looked it up and sure enough it is a symptom. Had been referred to and saw a neuro-opthalmologist who found nothing wrong (despite my seeing slants and steps where there were none).

Wondering if anyone else has gotten this. Mine lessened, went to bed and was asleep by 8, getting up at 7:30 the next morning. happened again tonight, but not nearly as bad or for as long. Back to not driving for a while until things settle down.

Hi Linda!

This sounds very familiar to what my husband gets and he does not have ON.  It's usually something that happens when he is in a situation where there is a lot of things going on around him like a crowded restaurant, lots of people talking, moving etc.  His neuro explained it to us as a brain overload issue where there is too much info to process at once and it effects vision.  Besides the double vision if its really bad and we don't get him out of the area quickly the room starts spinning as well.  Most of the time just getting him to a quiet area helps.  Also have tried earplugs, and that seemed to delay it a bit longer.

Kimber:

definitely sounds like what happens to me. got it again yesterday when at mother's nursing home for dinner. it didn't let up until this morning. had to read with patch over one eye.

neuro said if it continues, he wants me to have an mri on the brain stem.

hope your holiday is happy and your husband is well.
