Can we take them? I have yet to take a hot bath for fear that submerging my abdomen will hurt/burn the stoma in some way.

I could really go for one!

I usually have a hot bath (with whirlpool jets) every night (and have done so for over 30 post TC years). I also enjoy hot tubs, steam rooms, saunas, massages, various spa wraps, and many other activities to pamper myself....It is not going to hurt your stoma, although some folks may have decreased appliance wear time if the there is too much oil in the bubblebath.

Ash,

This is the same question I asked after my surgery. I like to sit in a hot bubble bath a couple times a week and enjoy my book. This is my only time to myself. I still take bubble baths. However, I cannot bath oils in my bath...oils compermise the wafer. I usually keep the water at a level just below my wafer because I always take a shower after I sit in a tub full of my own dirt....EWWW

It's amazing how resilient our little stomas are. One time, my 15 pound cat stepped right on my stoma with all of his weight, and it was fine. So, a little bubble bath will not harm it one bit. Go ahead and enjoy!

So, Ash, have you gotten up the courage to take a hot bath yet? Hope so! :-)
