Elisha:

I can relate. I was in intensive care for a long time with infections and I had several debreavements to clean me out. Hopefully, Sammie can come through this quickly. The best thing I can tell you is that I made it through it and am on my way to full recovery. I believe Sammie will get there too.

The best you can do now is make sure everyone follows sterile procedures (hand washing, gowns, the whole bit). It is probably a good idea to keep visitors and visits to a minimum. The less exposure to germs the better.

Know that Sammie is in our thoughts and prayers.

Ileostomy since August 2005.
As result of surgery (modified whipple) for necrotising pancreatitis. Removal of gallbladder, 2/3 of pancreas, resections of large and small intestines. Massive infection. 8 months in ICU at Westchester County M.C. (I think that's a record). Second surgery for resection due to fistulas in January 2007. Been slowly recovering since then. Possible reconnection candidate.

Elisa,

What's the news on lipgloss today?  I sure hope she is improving and out of IC.  Please let her know that we all are thinking of her.

Hi Elisha,

I'm glad Samie is back out off ITU, when i got my ileostomy i went back and forth to different wards and had NG tubes in and out, but seriously she is in the best place and will recover from this. It is so hard and scary for loved ones to see all that they are going through but it does get better.

Take care,
