Well, I am home now, which is a good thing. 8 weeks on the road is too long. I took a shower tonight and changed my bag and went thru three wafers b4 I got it to fit right. I use a two piece system and the wafer was giving me a hard time. My stoma has elongated some and so it is hard to get the wafers to go on the way they should. Fortunately I plan to have my reversal in April. Hopefully the next time I change the next time I won't have the same problem.

This was frustrating to say the least.

hi clyde! long time no speak. hope u and ur mom enjoyed ( thats who u drive with right?) I have the same problem, and my stoma is still shrinking so says the doc. I go thru a few wafers at a time trying to get a good fit. I don't know exactly what u mean when u say it prolonged, but i was reading about a prolapsed stoma( in the convatec health and vitality magazine)...which is where your stoma kinda slips out. It said that you can lay on ur back and kinda get it to go back in. Is that the case in ur situation?

My nurse came today and wanted to change my bag, which frustrated me b/c she's not even a stoma nurse. She cut the wafer too big and now i know i'll have to change it again, but i have irritation around my stoma site so i'm afraid to keep putting on and peeling off wafers. I hope u find relief

Thanks for asking. What I mean is that it has gotten bigger. It used to be round and small and now it is oval shaped and bigger than it used to be. I hope that the next time that I change it, it will be easier to fit. I have tried to lay down and push it back in but it is to far out and hard to move. I will try to see my doc while I'm home and see what he says about it.
