I am alittle nervous but Monday - Feb 25th - is my surgery.  Step #1 of 3 surgeries.  There is a little bit of me that wonders if I am rushing into this but I keep reminding myself that I cannot get off prednsione and how horrible I get when I hit 5mg of prednisone.  I will be on the road to recovery instead of the up and downs of UC.  This is such a BIG deal!!!
Pancolitis - July 2006
Medications:  Predisone - 5mg ,asacol - 12 tablets per day
Supplements:  multi-vit, calcium, folic acid
My wish:  get off prednsione....been on straight since 8/2006

Chili,
You're not rushing into this at all. You've been on prednisone for a year and a half, and realize that UC is not going to go away on its own. Surgery is a cure, and you're doing the right thing.

I've been disease-free and med-free since my surgery two years ago. It's so wonderful to have good health after being sick with Crohn's for 7 years. I haven't regretted this surgery for one minute.

I'm thinking of you and praying for you.
