I am having my ileostmy reversed next week. My doctor's office tells me that there is no prep involved, just no eating or drinking after midnight. Shouldn't I be only having liquids for a day or two?How does the doctor do the surgery if there is still stuff in your small intestine? I got an infection after my sigmoidectomy prep for that either.

No, this is the same prep I had for my reversal surgery. Remember, all the surgeon is doing is closing your temp ostomy from the outside, the surgery is not invasive.

dx proctitis in 1987

1998 started prednisone, asacol, pentasa, nortriptylene, ativan, 6MP, rowasa enemas and suppositories, hydrocortisone enemas, tried the SCD diet, being a vegetarian, omega 3s, flax, pranic healing, yoga, acupuncture, probiotics
